2015 CEIBS China Business Survey

2015 CEIBS China Business Survey

China Integrated and the Swiss Center of Shanghai are pleased to present the 2015 China Business Survey, conducted in partnership with CEIBS business school. This is the only survey of its kind to analyze and compare responses from both Chinese and foreign companies doing business in China. For the second year in a row, the China Business Survey also includes a section dedicated to analyzing the business challenges and opportunities for small-to-medium enterprises (SMEs) in China.

This year’s survey offers unique insight on the levels of confidence held by both foreign and Chinese companies, exploring profit and sales expectations, investment plans, and anticipated human resources adjustments. Despite a slowing Chinese economy, this year’s survey responses reflect optimism from managers of Swiss, EU, U.S. and Chinese businesses in China. The 2015 survey results also find that high percentages of respondents of all demographics report plans to increase their investments in China.

The China Business Survey provides managerial viewpoints on challenges for businesses such as increased competition from Chinese companies and the ever-present human resources paradox. Respondents this year placed a strong emphasis on the importance of innovation and product quality for success in the Chinese market. This survey, constructed from respondents of managerial-levels, also serves to dispel some popularly held conceptions about business in China including the impact of corruption, concerns over economic slowdown and the nature of intellectual property infringement.

We hope that you will find this survey insightful and useful for your business. Please do not hesitate to get in touch with any questions about the topics contained within.
